Despite a four-goal hole heading into the final 20 minutes, the visitors awoke when Carlson fired a shot past Anderson off a Semin dish at the 2:19 mark. Perreault then brought the Caps within 4-2 just seconds before the midway point.

Washington put an extra attacker on with 1:42 remaining, and Foligno hit the empty net less than 30 seconds later.

Karlsson put the Sens on the board just prior to the midway point of the first period on a wrister from the bottom of the right circle.

Michalek doubled the advantage with 5:47 to go, moving around Caps defenseman Dennis Wideman in the right circle and sliding a shot inside the near post.

Michalek added another score on a power play at 3:37 of the second period, and Philips struck at 12:08 on the advantage for a four-goal margin.

Michalek notched his sixth multi-goal effort this season and first since January 10 at Pittsburgh...Foligno snapped a 19-game goal drought which stretched back to January 8 against Philadelphia...Karlsson has totaled 12 points (5G, 7A) over a five-game scoring streak..Carlson picked up his first goal since February 12...Washington took three of four in the season series.
